We probably (I think) have 9+ in a minor. I've never seen this discussed. Does 3 show this?

1S (2S) hearts and a minor? I'm tempted to delay any action in the hope that partner also has hearts, but that's never worked well in the past.

Weird hand. However, double suggests defending and we do NOT want partner doubling a spade contract.

Afaik, the entire world uses 3H as a limit or better spade raise and I don’t think we have that, lol.

Passing won’t help since it’s 1000 to 1…..and I’m being conservative….that LHO isn’t the least bit interested in his partner’s minor….he’s short in it but long in spades. So passing leaves you guessing but at a higher level.

If you lack methods, you should bid 3C if only because it rates, by a narrow margin not to be RHO’s suit. Of course, it could be and you may well be en route to a disaster. However, the odds are very high that LHO will save you by bidding spades. If partner can raise you (miracles happen) then you’re in good shape. If he rebids hearts…ooops.

Methods can help. Here’s my current treatment after 1M (2M), where overcaller’s minor is unknown.

Transfers

Starting with 2N.

After 1S (2S) 2N shows clubs, 3C shows diamonds, 3D is a limit raise and 3H gf.

2N and 3C show invitational or better values…can be shaded with extra length.

I’ve never had this hand before. I’d like to think that I could bid 3C and, if the bid 4S, bid 4N to show both minors, but that’s the kind of sequence that looks good on paper but is easily….usually…misread by partner.
