Late response, and as you have already seen, 4♠ would have worked, nevertheless:
If you go down this route, you go deeper in unchartered territority.
Sometimes this happens, but if this is the case try to stay there only as long as really needed,
and most of the time the add. information you may get, wont be very reliable.
Also you need to have made up your mind, how to take a 4NT response to 4S, and what to do.
You commit your side to the 5+ level.
To a certain degree, bidding 4S is planning to bid 6C the next round, playing MP, partner
left the safe 3NT haven, 4H still in the picture, but 5m or 5H in a 43 will be for certain
a not so brilliant score.
