I was already about to throw in the cards for 0% after the North bot went for slam - another unexpected top - there was not even a lie to escape Blackwood - maybe my fault for not bidding 5 straight away. Was not even confident of 4

Yes I've seen it ignore a lead directing double before.

I'm not a fan of such antics, but wouldn't a 5 response stop it in game?

Maybe some decade you'll finally learn this happens because you keep opening 2C way too light. To GIB that shows like 9.5 tricks, you're no where near that. 8.5 is I'm being *incredibly* generous.

I'd also point out that 6D and 6N are utterly cold *from your side - ruff the 3rd round of hearts and the club problem goes away. You even make 7 if they don't lead Ac.

Consider how much better positioned N is to evaluate after 1D-1H-3D than on your auction.

6N is not cold if GIB West doesn't lead a club.

I appreciate my bidding leaves a bit to be desired

I could have been in 3/6NT-n because not all bots missed the lead
Note to self. Don't wrongside a possible diamond slam with 2C again

I thik 5 clubs may have meant grand - it would have assumed 3 and not 0 keys for sure
I have my quibbles with RKCB sometimes but some will still point the finger at my earlier bidding :(
I shoukld simply have bid 5D at some stage. Either opening or go to game rather than bidding 4

1D would have been best with the risk of an unmakeable NT

I meant a 1/4 Keycard reply (which I imagine for GiB will be 5D not 5C, sorry).

Yes sorry. It may have taken me to have 4 or extra length or something :)

It's a wonderful counterfactual to contemplate

It was what I should have tried though. Something stopped me doing it

EDIT It does indeed stop the madness
As I said 5D had to be bid at some stage :)
Unlike most of the field I was scared of 3NT

But irrespective of the bidding the thread was about the lead by the east bot
