There are (I suppose) some people who bid in these situations. If any partner of mine did so, I very much doubt that the partnership would survive. Maybe if done once, but if it became a habit, then I want no part of it, even if it sometimes leads to a good score. One of the reasons it’s hard for most players to learn how to be a good partner/player is that bad actions sometimes lead to good outcomes while, conversely, good actions sometimes lead to bad outcomes. Most players remember the good outcomes and think that their bad action was actually good. Meanwhile, such players tend to blame bad outcomes from bad actions on luck or partner or the opponents or some combination of those factors.

Becoming a good partner and a good player requires staying within oneself and one’s methods. I understand the desire to bid, but it is a very bad action.

I would pass even at favourable. And think it clear. I’d maybe bid if partner were a passed hand, we were at favourable, and I felt like fooling around. Btw, I never feel like fooling around when playing seriously.

But if, in those circumstances, I bid, I’d do so knowing that the likely bad result will be entirely my fault… not bad luck, not partner’s fault and not due to good or lucky opps.

I agree with pass. If I bid I want to hold the values my bid has promised.
