2) The relay actually doesn't come up that often - probably less than once in 25 boards. The agreements you have on the rest of your system (when you don't have a positive response opposite a strong club opener with no interference) will make much more of a difference.

FWIW, I've been playing strong club and relay systems for far longer than I like to admit
Strongly agree with akwoo's comment about
Both strong club and relays are best viewed as enabling tools.
They aren't all that wonderful in and of themselves.
The true value is that they allow all sorts of other useful things like limited openings, more ' better raise structures and the like
