I will be withdrawing from the competition, as end of July is ending near and I would only have couple more days next week to play, I think it's fair that I withdraw now. Thanks for Phil for playing the challenges, I really enjoyed playing them and sorry for not withdrawing right away and making you play some of the quarters.
As for this endless debate between format of the challenge, at the beginning I thought it's clear that best hand is superior to the non-best hand one, but during this challenge I have mellowed somewhat on that stance. I still do feel that best hand is better, as (to me) weakness of non-best hand is that you are defender much more often and those deal don't either make any difference to the score or you just feel frustrated as robot doesn't look for any signals or care for them, so at best it's guessing and at worst it's just pointless. It is true that best hand-format is somewhat different than "real" bridge, but to me it seems you have more chances to make difference and at least (usually) better declarer does win.

Ok thanks Zebutin. Sorry we couldn't continue even though you were giving me a good thrashing.

Just a reminder broze vs. toast1 still need to play 2 sets in R16.
We played 3rd set, and broze won by 15 or so. I am out of town and have only kindle app for bbo - not sure how to copy link. I sent 4th challenge and broze accepted, but it expired today with him not playing. I sent mail and also issued new challenge. Broze is well ahead so likely to advance. Hope he emerges soon.

OK from now on play as fast as possible. No more than 10 days after previous round is completely done but you're encouraged to play much faster.
