After an unrevealing auction, you are declaring 4 as North. East leads the T.
The spade king is with east.
Partner was a random pick-up and mentioned there was a squeeze here. If so, how do i spot it?

Aren't you just off anyway? With the SK offside you lose three top tricks (if not four) in the red suits and the SK.

A squeeze is only going to work if there aren't cashing top tricks :) (Well, if the defence miss one then maybe you can squeeze them out of it. If that's what happened then you'll have to tell us how the play went)

If a squeeze it will be there is heart-diamond because in spade and club are not losers.

I can't see a layout where a squeeze operates, the only likely possibility of not having 4 losers if there's a spade to lose is a stiff heart honour and some sort of throw in, but I can't find a layout where they can't avoid it.

I have the idea that any squeeze may be here : the sensation that a suit may be good by ruffing (also). About "four losers squeeze" for this one elements are two vulnerable suits plus a situation of delayed-duck ultherior. I think we must consider 1-4-4-4 or similar deal.

I think that King is singleton because if not so the opp win spade King and the other top honors for one down. Is it so ?

I can't see going for the singleton K over the finesse, unless there's something in the bidding to indicate a singleton K. Seems like odds are better for the finesse. There might be a squeeze play in hearts (for the Jack), but so what? You can already shed 2 heart losers on your K-Q , and there's no way around losing A-K that I can see. Was there anything in the defensive bidding to indicate unusual distribution?

Spade King singleton allow us to retain the controll of play getting off a loser; about distribution is it consequential (we can have also 1-4-5-3). However i ask if there is it or not.

I think the idea is to play single dummy and react to finding out where the K lies rather than trying to find a DD line taking account of this.

Quoted for Truth. Traditionally used when the poster expects the quoted post to be edited or removed at a later date although here I suspect Phil was just being ironic.

There are only 12 cards in North: what is the missing card ?

 I would ask North to find the 13th card

Win the A, then finesse . Whether the K is with East is unknown at trick 2 - don't let the post mortem sway you from good percentage bridge.
The plan would be to draw trump and pitch 2 on the AK.

If the K is singleton, then you trade the 50% chance for the finesse against the 6.22% chance the K is singleton. Not close at all.

The only time I would play for a stiff K in east is if East made an opening bid or equivalent.
Be the partner you want to play with.
Trust demands integrity, balance and collaboration.

On this hand, North is squeezed at trick 12, unable to keep any cards so he can follow suit at trick 13.

In general, there is a squeeze on every hand, although sometimes not until trick 14 or 15.
