All vul, teams of 4 (IMPs), in 4th seat the bidding goes P P 1H (4cM) to you.
How would you rank the following calls, and how big a gap is there between each of them:
P
X
1S

Yes, but would be a violation of the proprieties at my turn to call....still would rather take the PP than Pass or Double.

(P) - P - (1♥) - ?
IMO: 1♠ = 10, X = 5, P = 3, 2♠ = 1.

Considering we are red, partner is a passed hand, and we expect to usually be on lead, I think there is a case for passing and not helping opponents in the play. Still think 1S is normal though.

2♠ could work out, but would be more normal with one of the clubs in with the spades.
Pass is ok, but would be more normal missing one of the AKQ cards.
1♠ is the normal action.

We are all red at teams, 1♠ takes up no bidding space, we have a sub-opening hand, our suit is poor, and with our very low ODR in most cases we don't want partner to sacrifice. This seems a case where we have nothing to say. Besides, maybe this is a rare case where if they do end up in Hearts, partner leads the singleton Spade to our Ace for a ruff, and we set them because of it.
