In third seat I open 1♦ with 18hcp and it goes pass pass, 2♦ Michaels. In many auctions GIB on my left bid 4S with its four spades and near-opener and was destined to go down 2 because RHO was extrememly weak.

But I doubled 2♦ holding AQTxx and all of the sudden LHO bids 2NT advertising 5-5 in the minors when it is actually 4-3. RHO bids 3C and I double this because they have a clear misfit, and LHO passes and goes down 1100.

Thanks for reporting, looks like mistakenly crossed rules with Michaels 1Major-2Major sequence.

BTW, they weren't vulnerable, so they only went for 800. But a top is a top.
