All Red,Bidding goes:

1NT 2 X ???

Do you bid or pass? Double is for penalties, partner should have spades only.

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

I'd definetely pass, especially with minors being in the wrong order.

At imps I pass.
At matchpoints I might try 2NT in case of a bright future.

My thoughts exactly.

I would try 2NT (and a XX later if necessary) in either IMPs or MP.
I think our prospects in 2X are poor and we are heading for a big loss unless I get lucky, and partner has some fit for a minor. Even if partner's overcall is very normal , other pairs may not have a penalty double available, so I think playing in 2X is accepting the disaster.
One further consideration : pd is not likely to have length , since he did not use a "majors" bid , and although he could bid 2 with 6-4 , there is still hope he has a few minor suit cards.

2NT for me. I tend to run more often than it's perhaps considered normal, but I think it pays off more often than it would appear.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Pull. If 2NT can cause a mix up, then 3.

I'd bid if we were white, but red I think I'll pass. I don't think running is strange.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

I'm not usually a runner in these situations but I would try 2NT here. The tens and nines made me do it.

2NT for me at both MPs and Imps.

Is my XX SOS? And differs from 2NT how?
I play SOS: D>=C; 2NT: C>=D. Here.
2S denied 3+H for me.
