IMPs
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

I'd bid 2.

2 too.

In my perverse way of thinking, having a rotten suit is OK in this position, since I can finesse LHO's honors. This assumes I catch a fit, but why shouldn't this be the case?

2, don't see an alternative here, Double grossly misdescribes the hand and pass is a huge underbid.
Yay for the "Ignored Users" feature!

Double. I'll go with the gross misdescription. Good problem though.

2NT, but I'm weird at times.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

You are not alone ! I would probably pass but if i did bid, that would be 2NT.

Is this suit + hand good enough to double then 3S?
I cannot believe Doublers intend not to show 5xS
after 3C nor do they intend to pass 3C.
This 3S is wa-a-y overbid.
**2S and let partner show.

2S. I also would like to have a better suit but 4S is still the most likely game and our hand is quite strong. I think that double will too often lead to a silly contract, passing will too often lead to missing cold games (not to mention losing partscore battles) and 2NT is way way too much.

If LHO doubles I will probably not be very happy, but still there would be no guarantee that we'd be in better shape after a double or 2NT call.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

2, seems normal. Don't like double, but it could work.

Hard to decide which of pass and 2NT I hate the most, for different reasons, but I didn't think that either would get any votes at all until I read the replies.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.
