CAPP or DONT ?

Righty opens 1NT ( 15-17 )
What's your bid playing:
1) CAPP ( all seats )
2) DONT ( all seats )
( 1NT ) - ??
♠ x x
♥ void
♦ Q 10 x x
♣ A K Q J 8 x x
( Both Vul, if it matters )
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Edit: MP scoring... if that matters.
Also, Re: The CAPP DBL.. there seems to be 2 versions:
a) Penalty.. a hand ( in direct seat ) that can defeat 1NTX on its own with no help from partner.
Partner is supposed to pass.
b ) T/O ...showing a hand that would have opened 1NT.

If I am afraid of getting out competed, than 3C.
Playing Capp. - The alternative is X followed by 3C, but this would most likely overstate the
strength of my hand.
Playing DONT - Do I really believe, that I can play 2C? The answer is no, so either I pass or
bid 3C.
And the vulnerability does matter, they being vulnerable makes pass a lot more attractive.
Us being vulnerable does not bother me a lot with the given hand.
With kind regards

Maybe advanced players like it (I know a lot of 'bbo experts' do, but when was the last time an expert pair was seen playing capp?
At imps, I would bid 4♣, to maximize problems for LHO. I was thinking that 3♣ might be enough, because they can't then stop in 3Major when it's right, but it gives LHO too much bidding room when he has a 2-suiter.....while after cueing 4♣, they may end up in partner's major, it seems to me that it is more likely that LHO will have bigger problems after my 4♣.
Plus, all I need is the diamond K to have a chance in my contract, and partner may have more.

Does Mike Cappeletti count? He does play it.
Also, there was an story on a recent NABC bulletin about this substitute (IRL) which partner refused to play Capp, but agreed to play Hamilton (who turned out to be Fred Hamilton)
Maybe Julian Pottage play it too?

All it does is alert the opps to "pull".
So, I've felt the DONT DBL is more productive.
BUT on this hand, I PASSED...hoping Responder might invite to 2NT or bid 3NT.... However, he passed too but, lo and behold, my partner made a DONT-DBL with a long Ht suit.... and it was passed out! !
1NTX down 3 for a top.

No Gerardo, he hasn't played it in a long time because he realises how poor it is. Cathy doesn't play it either.

You got lucky partner didn't bid his DONT 2♥ showing both Majors...

Nooooo. too easy for this to get sniffed out. You aren't happy if it goes all float either.
3♦ is a much better psyche here. 20% of the time I'll try this. But I'll pass 50% and 4♣ the rest.

Or DONT for that matter. Doesn't everyone play Multilandy AKA Woolsey AKA Jassem nowadays?

2) 2C, assuming the opps dont go crazy in a major and pd bids 2D I will pull to 3C. Does this show good clubs and mediocre diamonds? If so, this gives us a chance to find a good fit in diamonds. Maybe I will be able to bid some number of NT depending on the auction. I will be interested in seeing other answers.
