You have to bid 5C here, you make game opposite a decent fit and nothing else. Sometimes you will have a big misfit and it will go wrong and you go for a number (which will suck since you also were probably beating them), but sometimes you are cold and they are cold, etc etc.

Or they take the push to 5 which we beat.

Give pard some club length and the A and we are making 6.

I'd be willing to bet if they take the push to 5S, they won't be doing it when it's a phantom very often at all, but yeah thats always a possible upside with bidding.

They might also not be able to double sometimes and we get a red/white save (or we might just be down 1 vs their game).

5, partner should know we are 6-5 given our absence of a michaels cue bid. Our hand is pretty good with our AKAK and I can't bare to not bid with a potential double game swing that could be involved in this deal.

I think 6C is less stupid than its notable absence from the preceeding posts suggests. It would be then that they'd be phantoming over it and we get another 200 for no apparent reason. Still, I would not bid 6, just 5. I am sure there are people who pass here so 5C can already win some imps.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I wouldn't have bid 2H.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

The other alternative is you push them into a making 6 Spades which they may have depending on their systems found it difficult to bid.

Prefer the michaels, but now I'm ok. 5, then double if they haggle about this.
