Both red, you get:

T852
A84
Q86
KQ2

It goes:

Pa-Pa-1-Pa
1-X-2-???

What do you bid? What do you expect to happen? Would you have doubled 1?

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

2. I expect to make it if I am allowed to play in it, but I will not make another bid in the auction. I would not have doubled one diamond, and am somewhat surprised to be asked.

Bid 2S
Would not have doubled 1D
Expect 2S making.
Want to play 3HX but I doubt it will be happening because at east in IMPs I won't Dbl so 3H then, down 1.

I don't understand trying to double them in 3, partner's a passed hand and we have at most 2 likely defensive tricks. They can easily have a 9 card heart fit and partner can easily have 5 or even 6 clubs.

One more voice in the crowd...

2S now, looking forward to defending 3H with a fair shot at setting it (made somewhat less fair by the fact partner's liable to lead a spade against it.) I'm not doubling 3H.

Doubling 1D would be yikesomgawful. Understrength, too many diamonds, a face card in diamonds, not a single suit where I have a classic holding like Kxxx for the TOX.

Seems like an easy 2. If I pass, they'll probably be left to play undisturbed. Would not have doubled 1 due to lack of shape.

I'm trying to figure out what's worse, doubling 1D, or doubling 3H
