1- (x) - P - (1)
x - (P) - 2 - (P)
P - (2) - P - (P)
x

what is the nature of the second double by dealer?

P - (P) - 1 - (1)
X - (2) - X?

how about that one?

1. Basically doesn't exist, but suppose I'd play partner for a good 4144 if it happens

2. Takeout, usually exactly 3 hearts, seems normal and common.

1. Maximum pass

2. no idea. My metaagreement- responsive or take out- is truely senseless here. Maybe good hand without 4 hearts.
Kind Regards

1. Sugesting to play, at first I though balanced 20, but that has no sense, so it must be an extremelly powerful 2-3 suiter around 24 HCP

2. Take out, stronger than bidding a suit

You opened 1 and passed 2 with a strong 2-3 suiter and 24 HCPS?
What that is conversative....
Kind Regards

1. Competitive. Not much extra strength, considering that the player passed 2D.
2. Competitive without 4-card hearts, but with enough values (ie. full opening hand, for starters, not a light third seater) to survive the 3-level without much risk even opposite a minimum neg double.

As to terminology, that varies in different parts of the world, but neither of these doubles is a Penalty or a Takeout, more like "asking partner's opinion" and in the gliding scale between Penalty and Takeout, these are about half-way.

I think the second hand should be a bit stronger than that. The first hand bid well.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

I think both doubles were good.
