Well.. ok, change a club into a spade or something.

Still, I'm surprised you (and justin) bidding over a reopening 3. It's common practice to place pard with 7-8 points when bidding over a preempt, so, using the old 'move a queen' balancing rule, it seems normal to place pard with 9-10 points when BALANCING over a preempt.

The hand I gave has 10 hcp, so it's more or less what pard expects me to have if he balances. Thus, I wouldn't bid on. After all, next time he has, say,

KQxxxx
Kxx
xx
Kx

and even 3 is going to be a struggle...

Yeah, you have a point I guess. Maybe 4 is a better bid.

I think I am a 1 or 3NT or 4 bidder actually. Given I have I can always out rank them. I have zero defence but I have a damn good suit, yet given how bad some of my preempts are partner will never believe what I have anyway. :P

There is no balancing over 3-level preempts.

3S is quite wide-ranging, partner has an automatic raise with the 10-count and 3 spades. Partner even has an automatic raise with the 2 aces and 3 spades.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Sounds like a bit of results-merchandizing to me, but ok :P

And the odds of partner having 3 spades when we have AKQ seventh are probably enormous.
Yeah, right.

Not sure what that is supposed to mean. Wereagles gave a hand with 3 spades. I said the raise is automatic, even when you remove the queen.

That means that I don't see the point in analysis focused on partner's 3 card support, because the odds are too low.
