Sorry about 1NT, but no spot cards, tenaces and weak suit.... I hope you at least find it reasonable and live with it :).

What is the form of scoring, and what does 3 mean? Forcing and natural? Invitational and natural? Something else?

1NT is normal, the 5 card suit is not good enough to upgrade. I raise now, there are many very minimal hands for partner that are golden for slam, especially if his major is hearts (I assume this promises a 4 card major?) There is also a very good chance that we have one of the majors stopped just once, so 3NT could be in jeopardy.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

3H

I assume 3d is 100% natural and game forcing.
3H agrees D and is a cuebid.

Hi,

Now 3H, a cue in support of diamonds, showing a forward going
hand, assuming 3D shows 6-4.

With kind regards

I'd raise diamonds also. This is the way to show a great hand for diamonds.

3 for me also. I don't like my overall hand for partner, but I'm just too good in diamonds to not make a helping gesture.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

Yeah I agree with this.

As do I and this hand is not an upgrade for me playing my usual 15-17.

3 here. If pard now skips 3NT, he should have a singleton spade and we're on to one of those magical "Axx vs x" fitting shortness slams.

Would bid a direct 4 with the club ace instead of KJ.

Jx-Jx-AQxx-AKxxx. Doesn't have to be that extreme maybe, but a hand that can't cue a major and wants to play in diamonds.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

4D

Show interest and hear what partner has to say. [Edit: Only one vote for 'other'?]

I'll cue 3 here in line with the majority.
I don't understand why some raise to 4, preempting controlshowing.
Kind regards,
Harald

I prefer to show values below 3NT and want better than Kx. Really I have no problem with 3 either, so long as the people who bid it aren't planning on passing 3NT.

I think 4D implies major controls. I don't understand, otherwise, what my hand is. I haven't bid 3NT or 4C.
