Scoring: IMP

(P) - ?

Tonight I held my first 10 card suit (in a non-goulashed deal). Computer generated hands you're playing in an event which is team scored. What's your plan in the bidding?

If you want to offer up some alternatives, I'll do my best to tell you what the other 3 seats at the table would do in the continuation.

Mike - 4 will be passed out. If you are playing Namyats, would you choose the stronger 4 preempt or the weaker?

Luke Warm - Laugh. Partner won't pass you out. It will go 3 on your left and 2 passes to you. Partner's pass is forcing (so you shouldn't pass that either B) ). I'm also not sure that 2 would be allowed in England on this hand if meant to show a strong hand.

I would choose the version that Vul vs NOT shows solid spades and no outside values.

That's the one I chose! However, that's 4 in our system. So, it continues:

(p) - 4 - (4) - 4
(p) - ?

Any move over p's free bid?

no, partner could have bid 4nt or jump to 5s or bid 6s. I guess he wants to play the hand.

pass...the "free" bid doesnt show anything, we are already forced to 4S. He is just saying it would be better to be played from his side.

Start with Namyats and freely continue with 5S. If pard makes any kind encoraging noise like the example auction I bid 4N and lament the fact I'm playing rkcb.

Another idea is to open the hand with 4N if that's ace asking.

If 2 is passed out then the opps have a combined 30 count, I think you should be perfectly happy if it is passed out ;)

I'm opening 4 then shutting up.

Opposite unpassed pard, I open this a Namyats.

If we do not play namyats, I'll open 1S, unlikely to be passed out.

If pard is PASSED HAND, then I open 4S.

If you play the aweful convention that 4NT is ace-asking - do it! ;)

I open this 1...

1Sp for me too. If there is one suit with which you don't want to rush the bidding, it is the Boss Suit.

I remember a remark by a Viewgraph comentator, something like "It took me 20 years to learn not to open 4Sp." :)

4 for me then pass 4.

2 is crazy even if it is intended of a psyche. I'd prefer 1NT or something.

4. If this isn't a red-vs-white 4 opening I don't know what is.
