We got this two down for -5.5 imps. Two and a half tables so there was only one other score which was 5♣= when West tried cashing the ♦AK. What should I take home from this, if anything?

North's 2cl bid is fine if you were playing strong nt, but playing weak nt, North has to help partner with what to do in case South has a balanced 15-17. So 2sp showing a good club raise is better.
It might lead to 5cl which doesn't make, you will need to take a view to reach 4spX.

The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket
