Live Games Wrong Bids

If you write a bid that is obviously wrong in a live game whats the situation? Some say you have a chance to correct it - other say you simply must wear it. I have no training as a director. :unsure:

"It depends" - under some circumstances you may change your bid before your partner has bid. If your LHO has bid and you subsequently change your bid, LHO is permitted to change their bid, or pass also. Players may be warned of Authorised and Unauthorised information from retracted/revised bids.

This question would be much better asked in the Laws & Rulings Forum which is monitored by highly qualified Directors.
