BBO Support cannot respond quickly to all the threads, but their response was:
"There was a problem on BBO's side, affecting mostly iOS users, but not only. Sorry about this, it should be fixed now.
"Please clear your browser's history [and cache] and try again."

Good to know, although many of my club had problems and none of them use iOS.
BBO does have the "News" facility to broadcast messages to people logging on, if they used that for service issues like this then the word would soon spread.
