What is the best plan to win this contract?

Don't know if it's a good line, but it's a line.

I'd ruff the opening lead. Cross to J♣ and ruff another spade. Play off the last two hearts in dummy and play winning clubs. I hope that the hand with 3 hearts (don't see much chance if 4-1) has 3 clubs. On the 4th clubs I pitch my losing spade. I can then take the diamond hook and throw my losing diamond on the 5th club. It isn't a great percentage (needing trumps 3-2, diamond finesse and the hand with 3 trumps holding 3+ clubs), but at the moment I don't see better.

How will you manage to take the ♦ hook? You're stuck in dummy...

Kind of fancy hand. YOu need to ruff high in the first round. then return to hand by CJ, then ruff high again. Cashing HA, finessing with H9. Cashing HK.

Perhaps in third round we should play SQ to foce LHO to cover with SA. In that case we might make all 13 tricks by a sqz.

I think Echognome missed something.

If you think D finesse is onside, just ruff the S draw trumps (coming back with J Club for fourth round if needed) then take the D finesse and cash your clubs.
So this line is about 50%.

Flytoox's line looked better on the bidding as I do not expect to find 2S opener with AK S and K D. However, playing for Trump 10 to be onside require a 3-2 trump break. Or if trumps are 4-1 (4 with North), you need D K to be onside and club 3 card with North then you should be able to execute a trump coup.

So, all in all , I think I will adopt Flytoox's line. Are there even better lines?

That I thought. Your plan is right, coz 2S opener couldn't have probably DK - finesse not going. So need to ruff 2 spades in dummy, but you have not entries into hand. Only way - H10 in North's hand (or singleton 10 falling from South on 1st draw). Even if North having 10xxx in hearts, then y may win, if he has 3+ clubs and DK is onside.

On tournament, this board played on 30 tables - 9 times 6H down 1; 2 times 6H down 2; once 6H down 3; 6 times 4H +1 trick; 1 time 4H just made ( other contracts: 4 times 6C down 2; once 6NTx down 1; once 5C down 1; once 3NT +1 trick; once 4C just made; 3 times NS-line played spades)...
Interesting, that no one declarer playing Hearts, couldn't manage to take 12 tricks!

Good work flytoox. The heart finesse seems a better chance than the diamond hook. Free did point out the little flaw in my plan... d'oh!

Still not a good slam to be in. Not sure with 3433 6 count (of which 2 is wasted) is worth a free bid of 4♥.

is there a squeeze? i might be fuzzy headed but i don't see the entry... anyway, does this work? trump the opening lead with the J, play A,Q of hearts, run clubs till someone trumps in... depends on 3/2 trumps and either the ♦K or ♠J right (assuming north has the 3 hearts)... say N has 2 clubs and trumps the third, leaving

when he trumps the club, say he leads a spade... i cover and ruff out the king... if south has ♠K,J i have to rely on the diamond hook... this might not even be close, i had a rough commute home

don't know what the best line is, assuming there is one.. i agree with echo on the 4♥ bid, i'd have passed... with pard's hand he would have doubled again, probably, then i can bid 4♥
