There were some problems with the hands database yesterday. Techs are working on retrieving the missing hand records. They'll show up again in a day or two.

A day or two has now become four days, and it is still not possible to retrieve any hands prior to 9/30/18. My partner and I play tournaments together and we like to discuss the hands in the days following the tournament(s). There are three tournaments from last week that we cannot discuss because the hands are inaccessible.
Is there still a chance that the hands prior to 9/30/18 will be recovered and made viewable, or has bbo given up on them?
Thanks.

Would look forward to the resolution.
Btw, I have faced this problem in past too. Couple of months back I was trying to retrieve a hand that I had encountered a few months ago, but it was simply not showing up. The "No data found" was coming.
How long do we hold hands for?
Also, I assume hands urls are independent of storage and would work even if the hand record is deleted from the system. I have been storing links on that assumption. Please let me know if that is correct.

Hand URLs should be permanent. They don't refer to our database, they contain the actual hand details in the URL itself (so we're actually using tinyurl.com as a database).

I assume tinyurl URLs also would be permanent? Or should we rather use some other url shortener if we want to store URLs for long term personal usage?

We've set up a process to restore hands that were lost. But it's doing it as a slow dribble to avoid impacting the normal process of copying recent hands to the database.

Hey, I see 9/29 is now showing up. Great! Will the other missing days also eventually show up?

Change the base date and the date range to cover what you want.
For example: your hands in September

I'm puzzled.
I have been aware for several years that tournament results are accessible for 90 days - no change there.
But I thought that all results were accessible for the same 90 days. But on checking, today, I find that I can go back to at least 23 February (I got fed up then of going back further). That's about 240 days.
What is intended as the long-term accessibility?

We upgraded the server that holds the hands a couple of months ago, and loaded it back to the beginning of the year. People doing cheating investigations needed to go back further.
However, the tournament information only holds the last 3 months. So you can see the hands further back, but not the information about the tournaments that they were played in.

Thanks. That is useful to know.
