In the context of a strong club relay auction, we're +1 when for our balanced hands with a 6 or 7-card suit. For example, we end...
3S-3226
3N-2227
and
3S-2236
3N-2326
I'm thinking of trading full pattern for QP information (which can be 2, 3, 4, or 5). Four for four.
We can start scanning then at 4C. I'm tempted to scan first for the Jack of the six/seven card suit. Any thoughts? These balanced hands have been a nuisance.

We still resolve those shapes, basically so opener can check for the 5-3 Major fit.
These came out 1 step lower with us, so last shape can zoom:
3H = 2236
3S = 2326, 5-6 SPs & split
3N = 2326, 7-8 SPs
4C = good 9SPs, etc

Hi Straube.
Without knowing (or needing to know) the full detail of your relay methods, including not continuing the default relay at this level (and what generic message this would normally carry) I would observe the following.
I would have to think longer about the long suit jack idea, but maybe the implied question could be asked in a different way, e.g. first step not semi-SOL, zoom with semi-SOL showing QP's.

- I assume all your semi-BAL, one-suiters go through 3♦
- Game before slam, so 3♥ should still relay for shape IMO
- I would therefore consider using 3♠ to skip resolution and go into whatever control ask mode desired, in your case QP's
