See highlighted bids for explanation.
IMPs, strong opposition (North is a regular Camrose player). Partner is known to be a bit of a bean counter, your call?

I pass. If S has a C void, we may not have enough to beat 6D.

At the vul, I would have bid 4 over 2NT. What would happen them?

If you bid 4C, then I think it would go (4H)-P-(4S) to you. And if you bid 5C or 4NT, then it would proceed (5D)-P-(P)-to you

Well you could be cold for 4H if pd has AQJxx of H and Cs break 2-2.
3C is a really pusillanimous bid and I believe anyone who bids this does not understand the system they are playing. What is the invit bid over 2NT? What does the failure to x 3H show?

We put them to a guess and they made their guess.

Nothing left to do here, except to hope it was the wrong guess.
