This is meant to be an all-encompassing thread for the St. Louis NABC - are you going to be there, did BBO Forumers do well in anything, etc.

Personally I will be there for all of the tournament, playing in the flight A NAPs Wednesday, the under 10K swiss on Friday, the mixed pairs, the Silodors, and the North American Swiss - if you see me there, feel free to give me high 5's, what ups, tops, whatever.

gipsona and I are there from Saturday, playing in the Vanderbilt, North American Swiss and other stuff with puncher and spil. We are the ones with a pageful of pre-alerts who don't sound like Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins.

I'll be there playing in the Platinum Pairs, Mixed Pairs, probably Red Ribbons, and hopefully NA Swiss.

I'll be there the whole time, playing in the Platinum and Mixed Pairs and then doing Vugraph from the Vanderbilt. Thanks to all of the people who have volunteered to operate, I think I have enough operators for all the planned broadcasts, but if you want to see how Vugraph works "behind the scenes" or just put names to faces, come by and say hi.

its fun to me to see that Michael is planning on playing both the platinum pairs and the red ribbons; in my opinion, the two events should be mutually exclusive :)

I'll be there, mostly for the KOs (if I wasn't playing with friends who are paying for everything, I wouldn't be going). I am also playing in the Red Ribbons, and trying to defend my Flight C NAP title.

I have a friend who's also eligible for both, I had the same feeling.

A simple solution would be to run both events at the same time. So even if you qualify for both, you have to choose one or the other.

If anybody with a voice in NABC scheduling is reading, please do NOT consider this suggestion. The Red Ribbon being consecutive with the NAP B/C events is PERFECT to let people play both such events over a long weekend.

If our team mates qualify from the pairs on Friday, then we'll be looking for team mates for the day on Saturday (for a Compact KO) - I'll post here late on Friday if this happens.

LOL but think about the mind games he gets to play in the Reds if he does well in the platinums. His opponents will shrivel if he brings it up.

OTOH, think of the shame if he does poorly in the Reds. :)

Right, and obviously you want to run the reds opposite the blues, but the blues can't be opposite the platinums, so the suggestion of running reds opposite platinum would never work.

But as long as you enter the correct ACBL number, you can put Jillybean on the entry form anyway.

Two of my friends got completely blotto over a dinner break. When they came back they filled out the entry with their player numbers but phony names.

They were kicked out of the event.

Nah, he can just blame me.

They have made the imp pairs final so we're looking for a pair today.

We certainly had our chances. You know when you get no gifts and are fixed left and right in a session? We had the opposite of that. We were in 14th overall in the afternoon with a 56+%, but then played really bad in the evening and were lucky to get our 45%. I think we were fixed once each session (including Grue and Moss having an accident to a 6H on a 4-2 fit missing a cashing outside A and the trump Q, but the Q was onside third as it needed to be to make) but had 5 or 6 gifts given to us each session to more than make up for it. Unfortunately even with that good luck, our total was only good enough for spot 57 with 56 qualifying today, so no worries on doing too well in the platinums.

Good luck to everyone still playing PP, IMP, and 10K today.

lol they did that against you? It has become a running joke since I heard of 2 pairs in 6H, and everyone in 6m that I talked to went down...but probably not as funny to you!
