Gib holding
A3JA5AQT87532
bids
1-(3)-4??

Surely 4 is preferable here, maybe it thinks 4 isn't forcing and needs to be adjusted?

4 here only says "13+ pts", doesn't promise diamond support, this should also be changed.

Actually, it thinks it's not strong enough for 4. I don't know where it comes from, but its rule for a free bid over 3-level interference is that it needs 9 + 2*level total points. So if it can bids its suit on the 3 level it wants 15, and 17 for the 4 level. The rule for bidding over 2-level interference is similar, except the formula is 7 + 2*level.

How many total points does GIB think that hand is worth?

Edit: Sorry, I keep forgetting that GIB doesn't count a distribution point for Ax.

yes we have had hands like this were GIB had a solid 7 card suit
doesnt bid it but makes a negative double.

I have a question, what does a cue bid show when GIB your partner makes a pre emptive overcall?
1 2pass your call

AX
QXX
AKXX
AJXX

I assume the cue bid implies support or is looking for extras....or does one just bid
the pedestrian 4?

Does cue bidding 3 then bidding 4show extra values?
