so you are complaining that you went off in 3nt after partner preempted in a major and you insisted on game in NT with two of the three side suits unstopped?

First of all, I thought bridge discussions weren't allowed in the WC.

Second, there seems to be something missing from the auction. What did partner bid after 2NT?

With the opps having all spades except Q, and RHO having 7 diamonds, I suspect they could have made a game. At favorable vulnerability, your -13 is not much worse than their game.

You seriously think that this is a bridge discussion?

It was only nine down (no, contrary to conventional wisdom, OP never managed to go 13 down in 3NT).

-450 is great against their vulnerable game.

One of my first online games, btw, was -400 for 8 down when p passed my 4NT take-out, that scored very well at matchpoints.

the auction for those of us who thought the OP was confusing:
2-p-2NT
        3NT
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Thank you. I see now why the OP did not use the Hand Editor.

Silly things can happen, I recall playing in 5Nx which doesn't happen all that often, and the choice of lead dertermined who made 11 tricks. They got it and subsequent discards wrong :D so I made 12.

I made what I think is my record NT trick difference taking this weekend, I managed to get 2 tricks from Jxx opposite 98xx and opponents never played their other suit, wich resulted in 1NT + 4 instead of the 1NT -4 double dummy solvers think that should be achieved for a total 8 trick difference.

Even Zia Mahmood once lost all 13 in 3N, bid to make, so it can happen to the best.
