I was also reminded of Reese, but that's probably because I just read Truscott's book about it a few months ago.

This scheme was more clever, IMHO, more like the MIT blackjack team's approach.

And certainly the bridge regulators will point to this as justification for the draconian rules that have been instituted in the past few years about cellphones in playing areas.
