I held this hand and considered a middle spade, the ♥A and a low club. I mentally counted six diamonds and two spade tricks. I did not mind giving up a club, since it was only the 9th trick.

However, LHO probably isn't doubling 4♣ with a void, so clubs are very likely 2-1. The nice thing about the ♣A, is it allows a switch back to hearts. Here was the actual layout:



Sadly I led the low club and 10 tricks were cashed.

The ♥A works, but that would be a disaster if the ♠Q were the ♥K.

So after the middle spade lead, declarer cashes 3 spades and 6 diamonds and concedes -1, is that right? (Just checking since there seem to be mulitple ♠4s and ♠2s out...)

Ignore the spots - I was recreating this from memory. However, dummy had the Q♣ stiff. Too lazy to analyze it, but I think we are in trouble on the run of six diamonds.

we would be in trouble if declarer had a spade honnor in hand, but if he doesn't he won't be able to cash ♣K after running diamonds.
