bidding goes: pass-(2D). that is, partner passes, and RHO opens weak 2D in 2nd seat
what do you bid white vs red?

what is a "textbook definition" for 3H?

2 is fine. You don't particularly expect your finesses to win and the suit isn't great so there is no reason to do more. Double is conceivable but 3 isn't, the suit isn't good enough and we are very suitable for all strains.

I think I would double and then bid hearts.
I think it's close between dbl/2.
The problem with 2 is imo that we make game opposite many balanced 7-8counts which will not even think about bidding anything than pass.
