Big *No* at IMPs for sure. Not even matchpoints although it is tempting to those who just can't bear to have them play at 2H. But, but they have not shown a fit, they may have more values and stopped low because of misfit, and my partner is likely to hold too many hearts for us to comfortably (profitably I should say) declare and the dreaded outcome is -500 or worse, opposite their non-making partscore.

If I can trust opps to be bidding seriously, dbl. Else pass.

Clear no at IMPs.

At Matchpoints I would balance, even though it is very dangerous. I just don't want my opps playing at the 2 level. Besides, sometimes partner has hearts and my double will transform our +100 into +200.

1. Partner passed over 1 Heart?
2. We are red?
3. They have a misfit?
4.We play imps?

These are mine questions. What was yours?
Kind Regards

If you wanted to bid the time to do it was on the first round. Now that they know they have a misfit, don't shoot yourself in the foot.

I don't think it is as clear as many suggest. Both red is very bad for doubling, but our shape is perfect. Against weaker opponents I would often double if their auction was smooth, and pass if one of the opponents thought before bidding or passing 2H.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

Scoring: IMP

This was the whole deal. 2H made for them when they guessed the clubs right. 2S makes for us. I agree with the posters that it might be dangerous to enter here but i didn't think it was so clear.

Would anyone act as North btw?

Will pay off if the opps balance or ever get into this auction and win the part-score battle. Content that they found the one time it worked, and more confident in our chances to win the match.

The shape and strength are fine for double but I just hate the diamond holding so much for both offense and defense and I pass. I wouldn't double at any form of scoring.

Perhaps dbl 1st round if I feel lucky, but certainly no action at 2nd round.
