Bidding Question?

2♦ = Weak 2 opening points and 4+4+ in both majors.

Is 2♦ opening allowed as weak 2 in both majors in ACBL speedball tournament?

This bid is has been deemed inherently destructive by the ACBL
Its banned at all levels in events that use ACBL convention charts

It's legal if it's 5+/4+, but 4-4 isn't enough.

GCC requirement is 5-4/4-5+ and 10+ HCP

ACBL said:

OPENING BID AT THE TWO LEVEL OR HIGHER indicating two known suits, a minimum of 10 HCP and at least 5–4 distribution in the suits.


This is the same thing that makes Flannery legal.

I don't believe it is legal in a GCC event even if it promises 5+/4+ (unless it promises 10+ points).

Nor can I find a weak 2♦ opening bid showing 5+/4+ in the majors on the mid-chart.
