1 - 1
2 - 3
3 - 3
4 - 4NT
5 - 5
6

1=2+, natural or balanced 11-14/18-19
1=transfer
2=reverse in or , showing <3
3=natural GF
3/=cuebids
4=splinter
Then RKCB 1430

We might decide to relay after 2, but that would most probably make it harder to reach 6
Kind regards,
Harald

This is a good slam. I think a natural 2/1 auctions starts like this:

1 - 1
2 - 2

Like Josh, I think 2 is far better than 3, since it saves space, forces, and it is descriptive. However, I believe the auction should continue:

3N.

This hand has 8 tricks, and 3 isn't forcing. If 3 was forcing, I'm fine with it, but 2 can be made on a variety of weak hands and Responder needs to get out. Obviously Opener has a good hand, so....

...........4
4 - 4
4 - 5

6 isn't certain, but it should have a good play.

in REGRESsion the bidding will be:

• Pass = 13+ any shape
1 = 6-11 part of bal. shapes OR 12+any shape
• 1 = 13+ balanced, OR 17+ s/void
2= 6-11 bal. :5332 with 2or 3 toph. in 5card, OR 6322 and toph.=?
• 2= positive relay
2= 10-11 if 6322 then no 2 or 3 toph. in 6 card
•2NT= relay
3 = 5332, and 1 side suit with a stopper
•3 = relay
3= 2=5=3=3
•3= Slam asking Bid = trump (can alter afterwards)
4= AK
•4= Suit asking Bid
5= Q (if no K or Q = 4NT bid you pass in comfort, KQ is not possible)

because of 1 side-suit stopper this must be QJx (stop impossible with Q)
•6= impossible bid, thus to play

---
slightly better because the exact distribution is not a big issue here
is to bid after 3

•3= Control Point asking
3NT= 3CP (A=2, K=1)
•4= scan
4= AK (non not possible because of 2 toph.)
•4= scan further (normally: but first Q of your longest suit, which can not be possible AKQ + side stopper = 12HCP)
4= no Q (if Q no J= 4NT bid, or 5 with J you pass in comfort)
•6 thus QJx
freedom to use any bidding system
is vital to the development of bidding theory

4 Keycards
4NT 4 of them

1(1) - 1(2)
1(3) - 2(4)
2(3) - 2(5)
2NT(3) - 3(6)
3(3) - 3NT(7)
4(3) - 4(8)
4NT(3) - 5(9)
?

(1) 16+ relay
(2) GF 4+
(3) relay
(4) 1suiter
(5) short
(6) 2-5-3-3
(7) 3 controls
(8) A or K, tophonor , no tophonor
(9) no tophonor
Time to think. South has A and a red king. Relaying again is not without risk. A 5/ response will get you to a bad 6. Only a 5NT response will make a good 6, but now 6 is a relay! (otoh 7 has a chance...). If a swing is needed, relay again. If not, pass 5.
