Suppose partner opens a weak 1NT. You hold a balanced hand, no five-card major, and zero points. Your RHO passes. Do you bid or pass?

If white on red, partner opening first seat, it seems imminently reasonable to make a call, although clearly for effect rather than science. The probable election is a simple 2 Stayman, whatever the shape.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

Running from the rough!!! Get out get out get out.... Ok, if i have long clubs or diamonds, i would pass, waiting for the double, then run. But if have some diamonds, hearts and spades, i bid 2C and pass whatever partner bids.

If I got a 13-14 point hitch from RHO, I might try a tactical 3N at MPs. It will be very tough for them to double.

At IMPs, I want damage control and I might not trust my read anyway. I'll do what I can to try to run out to our 4-4 after the x, but I will generally pass unless I have a way to show 4-4 in the majors.

Agree with this, except for I'll add the obvious "or a 5+ major".

Mixed strategy is best - including the occasional transfer to a 4 card major: you would be surprised at the extent to which that can muck them (or us) up...

Not infrequent Stayman with the right distribution ...

i might s/o in a 4cM maybe maybe. but pd has the right to super-accept, so only rarely. especially at green and holding spades.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.
