The Cavendish Pairs is difficult to record properly because (i) the BBO software doesn't capture player names in the log files and more importantly (ii) because of security only a disk for 3 boards is given to the operator at any time rather than the boards for a full session which would be the case for a less money rich event.

The difficulties are well explained by Susan Dhoty here :
http://forums.bridge...?showtopic=7964

Last year was particularly bad and all that was recorded in the Vugraph archives was the final 3 boards in each session.

However a better job could be done for this most prestigious of Pairs events. It will need some help from the operator(s) who will need to manually save each round - as explained by Susan. I don't know who is operating in Vegas this year but perhaps Roland or Uday could ask them to help out. Also if there are several tables being shown, could the operators make sure to distinguish between them.

Our operators in LV are David Stern, Barry Goren and Jan Martel (perhaps more). I will forward your request during the broadcast today, but I can't promise anything.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice

Thanks Roland, I think I'm OK now for producing Vugraphs for both tables from Session 1.

I'll be asleep for Session 2 so I'd be grateful for any help from US members in keeping a record of the player names at both tables (preferably in the Order N/S and E/W) in Session 2. Please post here or email me.

The finished Vugraphs will be on Nikos's site.

Thanks
Denis

So far *nil* response for player names In Session 2 - very disappointing - does nobody want a good record of this event? Anyway I've gone through the commentaries and hope I've got most of the names.

Can somebody out there *please* help for Session 4 i.e. the evening (Vegas time) session.

I'll offer a free month of ACBL tourneys on BBO to the first person or pair that gets Denis his data from tonight's session. Denis, pls let me know who helped out and I'll take it from there. I'd do it myself but I'm going to need to offline for much of it.

Fine print, from paranoid me: max 2 winners, must use prize in 2007, not transferable, redeemable or convertible into cash, etc.
