I've seen this happen a few times: the scrollbar for the chat area appears to the far right-hand side of the BBO windows rather than just to the right of the chat area.

Minimising and restoring BBO fixes it temporarily.

Thanks for the report. It looks to me like this might have happened immediately after a round change in a tourney.

I will investigate, but if you see this happen again and notice a pattern of when it happens, please let me know.

Speaking of scrollbar issues, sometimes the scrollbar controls (arrows and thumb) for the chat area disappear when I bring up a Movie window. Clicking somewhere in the scrollbar will scroll it and fix the controls.

you may be on to something, fred; 4.9.4 now, round change in a tourney, same thing.

I lost the scroll bar during/after a round change. I was clicking on the scroll bar at the time.

mebbe related; the scroll bar goes "noisy" during tourney. Forever flickering, when vertically maximised, even though chat region is not full. Minimise it and it stops. Could this even be related to having to click cards twice?

Is an ad being displayed when scrollbar flickers?

Has anyone else seen this?

What's the story with clicking cards twice? Does this always happen?

Has anyone else seen this?

Do both of these problems happen on all of your PCs or only the ones with old versions of Windows?

I find more card clicks are not taking in the new version and require a second click to play the card, infrequent and seems to be random. I did not have this problem in the old version.

I was running narrow. So i don't remember if that (narrow, maximised) gives room for ads.

Sounds like jilly confirms the card clicks not taking.

I haven't tried newer windows - sounds like she has.

Thanks - can you replicate the scrollbar problem by kibitzing in a tournament? If yes, how about in the Main Bridge Club?

About the problem with playing cards, when this happens if you could try to notice:

1) If the card moves when you mouse over it
2) If the card turns yellow when you click it

and let me know I would appreciate it. I realize it may not be easy to notice such things since you don't know when it is going to happen and since you will likely be concentrating on bridge when it does happen.

No time to play this morning. Lets for now assume the clicking is from the scrollbar.

I tried a number of things but what seems left (couldn't find it)

a. round change
b. chat not full
c. scrollbar is painted though it's not needed

Looks like in Justin's case it was painted in the wrong place too. So perhaps something like there are two ways to paint scroll bar and one is being done over top of another, and sometimes when no scroll needed at all.

Hope this helps.... just my random thoughts

Even in older versions of Netbridgevu the slider on the chat scrollbar sometimes disappeared, but it came back when I clicked on the srcollbar.

Some days ago, while at a table, the chat srollbar suddenly became totally invisible, and clicking there where it should be had no effect. However, it was still possible to scoll though the chat with the plage up and down keyboard keys. Some time later, still at the same table, the scoll bar was there again, and worked, and I had no idea what made it come back. This happened only once since the recent betas were launched. Sorry I do not recall which beta it was.

I am using windows XP and a full screen window on a 1024*768 display.

If anyone who has seen the bug where you click on a card and it does not get played, can you please let me know:

1) Wide screen or not?
2) Big deal or not?
3) Big cards or not?

Thanks,

I use wide screen and neither Big deal or big cards.

I noticed the card click problem too. It is there since the first non classic version. I used to click the card at the bottom near the player name, but it seems that clicking the bottom an area about 10 pixel high, does not take the click. If the selected card moves up, the bottom region of this card is still insensitive.
While clicking on the card the sensitive area seems to be displayed in yellow for a moment. This yellow area does not cover the whole card, but leaves a white stripe at the bottom. This area seems to be identical to the insensitive area.

Thanks hotShot. This is very helpful and gives me increased hope that I have fixed the problem in 4.9.5. If you don't mind trying that version when convenient and letting me know what happens, I would appreciate it.

Just tried 4.9.5 at a teaching table and it seems the clicking problem is gone.

I had a scollbar problem once playing a tourney using 4.9.3 or 4. The chat area scrollbar was deactivated and i had to open and close the lobby to get the scrollbar working. It was near the end (last board of tourney) or after my table was closed.

Hi,
I tried the "earlier" version of the "new" version. I like to use big deal and when I did the cards overlapped the dummy cards. As a result I went back to using 4.8.3. Is this fixed now?

I tried to improve it, but I could not fix it completely without doing something like making the dummy's cards or the cards in the middle of the table closer together.

Note that this is an issue only if your screen's vertical resolution is 768 and your BBO window is not maximized.

I like the big cards too. Most likely I will take another look at this before too long and see if I can make further improvements without making something else worse at the same time.
